Headlight conversion

How hard is it to convert from square to round headlights? Someone told me that unless you buy the kit to do it you have to change the grille and the hood. I looked for a kit online but can't find anyone that has one.... Please help! I got a 94 Wrangler. Thanks

I've never seen a kit to do what your talkin bout, although there might be one out there somewhere. But the hard part will be setting up the grille etc. While your grille is straight on the sides, switching to round headlights will cause you to move them closer together to make them fit of require you to get a new grille, either off a CJ or a 95 up wrangler with a round headlight grille already. Now installing this will be the problem. Altering the jeep to make a new grille fit with the round headlight mounts etc will be the challenge. Not sure how much room you have behind the grille and the radiator etc right now, but the round headlights will take up a little more space back there.

The only way to accomplish what you're proposing is to get a conversion kit to swap out the headlights and grille. I can't remember what company makes it off the top of my head, but it was shown at the SEMA show a year or two back.

Try www.rockcrawler.com or www.jeepforum.com. Each has a section for YJ (Jeep's designation for the "square headlight" Wranglers) owners. I'm certain someone there will know better than I where to find a kit.
