1993 S-10 problem
The truck runs and shifts smooth but under hard acceleration, the engine revs up some but dosent seem to go anywhere. I have to let my foot off the pedal a little in order for it to accelerate at a good pace.It still does not have the power it should though. I have new spark plugs in ,new rotor, new fuel filter, cat isnt clogged...any ideas?

Re: 1993 S-10 problem
You did not indicate the transmission, but I presume its an auto, which is the likely source of the problem, It sounds as if its slipping.
Try dropping the transmission pan, cleaning it out, and replace the fluid and filter. I find this fix works about half the time in circumstances like this. However, if the trans has been slipping a lot or has an internal mechanical problem, you need a rebuild. |
