4X4 drive doesnt work

i have 1984 s10 blazer 2.8L 4X4 5 speed and the 4X4 drive doesnt work. when i put it in 4X4 low everything sounds ok but the front wheels wont spin, it like they arnt engaging. does anybody have a idea of wuts wrong.

there is a vacuum actuator under the hood next to ur battery, it has a vacuum line runnin into it and a cable that connects to the vacuum diaphragm and goes down to ur front axle, check the vacuum line runnin into it and see if it is loose or has came off

in the 94 is it next to the battery or under it? I cannot remember which one but onw year it was moved to below the battery and you could not see it from above

were does it go from the shift actuator i just cant see any thing to hook a hose to.

I have a 89 s-10 blazer and also having 4x4 problems, the actuator on the 89 is suppose to be under the battery tray
