Yes it just different inside the tranny.

pull the drain plug see if any metal comes out make sure to wait till you get the tranny in and c/v s in before you put in your 2 quarts of honda MT fluid, or redline oil, but only those two really work good.

Re: tranny question

Thats about all I can tell ya to do other than check the input shaft for locking up when you spin it. If it doesnt lock up then you should be ok with the main shaft. Put the focker in and try it. Ya never know until you try it.

Re: tranny question

Yes the trans will make a difference in the 1/4, did you have a 4 or 5 speed in your CX? If its 4spd. you will notice a great difference, because of the different ratios. Did your Si trans come from a Civic or CRX? because the two are slighltly different, the CRX has a 4.40:1 final drive whilethe civic Si has a smaller ratio, like 4:20 or 4:25:1.

The VX wheels would also make the car accelerate alightly faster than steelies, because they are lighter. Dont expenct huge differences from the wheels alone tho.

i dunno what it came out of, a guy bought a DOHC ZC but his cars an automatic so i bought the 5 speed tranny off him. I dont know how to tell if its from a CRX or Civic tho

and i had a dx 5 speed in my car, i woulda hated having a 4 speed lol

Re: tranny question

Yeah, either way it will be a bit faster. It will have different final drive compared to the DX, so it will accelerate faster... BTW final drive from Civic Wagons is better than Civic Si final drive they are 4:30:1, just FYI

Re: tranny question

Is it true that the 4th gen wagons are AWD? I read that somewhere but I just couldnt believe it, sounded to unrealistic. If they are it would be nice to make an AWD civic hatch

Re: tranny question

civic wagon is more of an "assisted" awd system; however, the manual has an extra low gear b/f 1st (6 speeds) for those sticky situations. I'd love to have one
