?Transmission Fluid Needed for Manual Transmission?
I have an 85 Golf GTI with a manual transmission. Does the transmission require fluid? If so, what type? And is the fill cap the plastic cap on top of the transmission? Thanks.

Yes it takes fluid and no it dosen't go in that plastic cap on top, that is for checking the ignition timing & you will ruin your clutch if you put oil in there. There are drain & fill plugs on the bottom & side respectively. It should be fine using 80W-90 gear oil.
