2000 Impala Gas Gauge works intermittently
I have 2000 Impala. Gas gauge goes up and down continually. Each time it goes to empty, the low fuel light and chime come on and it is quite annoying when driving. The more I drive the less it works and now seems to be stuck on empty. Took cluster out and did not see any burning or anything else wrong with the circuit board. Any ideas?

gas gauge problem
i had the same problem. You need a new fuel level sensor. This is in the gas tank. You can access it by putting down the back seat and pulling back the truck cover. Got a new one at gmpartsdirect.com for $70. Can find detailed instructions about this repair for free at impalahq.com. Hope this helps, good luck.
