Re: Motor Swap
You can put any post year of your car USDM motor in a honda CRX and it will pass smog. The thing is that you have to have it Refereed for the car and year the motor was pulled from. ex. I have a 1995 D16Z6 in my car I have to go down to my local Ref. station have them check the wiring and make sure it is a OBD1 computer running it. Check all smog equipment then after visual is done they then smog it. If it passes then they'll give me a Cal smog legal sticker. From that point on I can get it smogged anywhere but they will test for a 1995 civic ex with a D16Z6. BTW it is cheaper to have the ref smog your car $35 + $8 smog cert. But it can only be done if your doing this or are a gross politer.
This is what my buddys looks like:

Re: Motor Swap
The d16z6 is a drop in motor tranny will work and motor mounts will work also. I suggest that you find a Si tranny and get poly inserts for you motor mounts but yes the stock stuff will work. On the wire conversion Im not sure I did mine completely out of a 95 civic ex. If you do it the way I have it done let me know (PM) I will post the site that gives you a step by step in wiring. Expect about 6 hours of wiring.
