Kole amp

http://www.acaraudio.com/product_inf...oducts_id=1157

I havent heard alot about this amp... any good? I mean 3000watts is killer for $400!! im planning on running it on 2 mtx DVC 8000 series 15's. If its a total waste of money can someone please give me some good amps that are over 2000 watts RMS and about 3000 @ peak.

I have heard nothing about them. I have heard of them though. I would suggest going with something reputable. Remember you get what you pay for.

1: do you really want to go deaf. if Y, goto 3, otherwise
2: get a nice 5-700w amp and a pair of 10s-12s and enjoy some friggin SQ
3: i would be VERY freakin iffy about someone advertising something like that.

the site says the amp is this: "1100 W RMS x 1 (4 ohm)", so this is the rating. it's not apparently a MOSFET amp, which makes me think it's 1100 junk watts, which is == to about 4-600 good watts. so save your pennies and buy something reputable. stereo amplifiers are one place where it pays to buy something name brand. this ain't Nike, folks, and watts don't necessarily equal watts, ifn ye ken.

Re: Kole amp

Do a little research about what the wattage on an amp actualy means and how its measured before you get excited by what you see advertised. Power ratings on an amp are not like Horsepower measured on a dyno, the measurements are a lot less reliable for comparison. There is no question if you took a high end 500w amp and pushed one sub and that amp and pushed another the good amp would be significantly better... I would suspect even a good 250 would do the same.

Alrighty then!

I think im not gonna get it then. Sounds to me like an Orion amp would be pretty good.
BTW geeko Ill be pushing it thru 2 DVC subs, which means that in parallel, the imp. would only be 1 ohm (2300watts RMS). Looking for some pretty heavy bass. what size enclosure do you guys reccommend(ported). what kind of SPL do you think ill be hitting. Im guessing about 130??
