easy question

ok i concede defeat, im just gonna let my nuts shrivel up and just ask how the heck do you fill the diff up with gear oil (not top off but fill up). there's a little plastic port of some sort on top of the diff case that seems to be the place but i tried putting oil into and no go. some one wanna shed some light on this most basic of questions?

Re: easy question

That plastic port on the top of the diff case is a vent to let air out when the fluid heats up and expands. Most diffs usually only get filled up about halfway, you never fill them completely with fluid.

Re: easy question

Its a bitch to do.. It goes in the filler cap on the top of the housing (passenger side) you cant just pour it in there though, you need a piece of 1/4 clear hose (shoulda came with your diff fluid) the hose goes on the end of the diff fluid container and into the hole on the housing and you gotta kinda squeeze the bottle to put some pressure on it.. It took me 45 minutes to put fluid in mine.. it goes very very slowly
