Help!
My steering wheel has spent the first 17 of its 19 years in the desert sun, and the foam has all melted and turned to ultra sticky brown goo! It's oozing out all over, and I ruined a $60 pair of gloves from it! Does anyone know of any place that has or will make a leather steering wheel skin that actually covers the spokes? I've seen some like wheelskins.com, but they wouldn't cover the spokes. I can't find any custom leather shop where I live that will wrap the wheel. I had 2 wheels, and I skinned for a pattern, but somebody threw it away. I can strip the other for a pattern if somebody can actually help me out, and I have the first wheel all cleaned up and ready to be wrapped.Anyone? Thanks! -JP |

Re: Steering wheel cover PLEASE!
Try out automotive upholstery shops - not the kind that will recover your honda civic seats in neon green, but the genuine old school places run by guys old enough to be vietnam vets. We had a guy around here who sadly passed away recently that could cover anything. Often thease guys have so much experience they could leather wrap an entire interior with only raw material and a ruler. Probably eyes blindfolded too.
