Hi. Im new wooT.
Anyway. I have a 2001 Tib. and want to eventually put in a CDplayer with XM. Now I've looked around and have read that this stuff needs to be custom done. Now while looking over the center console and shifter. It seems pretty easy for a do it yourselfer. I have the 5sp.Tib, with a tapedeck and while using my CDplayer that plugs into it ect. The tapedeck ate the tape part. It won't eject or switch over to tapedeck. So any help would be a plus .

hi dude.
i first recommend you check out the forums at www.rdtiburon.com. im a mod there(same username), and its the only forum devoted to the RD1(97-99) and RD2(00-01) tibs. ok, anywho... you can but a dash kit from here... www.crutchfield.com is your stock player approximately 2inches tall... http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zPksZFv...&avf=Y&search= or is it about 4 inches tall? http://www.crutchfield.com/S-zPksZFv...&avf=Y&search= ive experimented with both, with each radio surround. ive found the best look is custom though, and im doing that right now. i got the surround from a 2 inch tall opening(mine was originally 4 inch, they fit the same) painted it, and put my panasonic radio in it. i sanded the opening bigger, so that i can fit my cd players surround in there. then im going to resand, and repaint. in the slot below, ive got a carbon fiber switch panel i made in there. |
