hey guys, im lookin to put a turbo in my car this summer but i dont know the first thing about them. i was wondering whats the cheapest i could spend to get around 70-100HP gains(i have $1,700 right now). and ive heard that turbos really kill your engine and are highly unreliable...any truth to this???

Re: Turbo in a 93 vtec
unproper tuning makes forced induction unreliable
if turbos were unreliable then there wouldn't be any factory turbo cars....but i've heard of boosted preludes...but preludes aren't my best subject

Just make sure you do everything right the first time. Don't cheap out on anything, its a real delicate process. Unfortunately your $1700 isn't exactly gonna cut it, so save up man Try posting in the Turbo forum, i'm sure they could help you out.
