ignition module quistion?

i just bought a 1990 gmc sierra 1500 305 tbi the other day and it ran fine actually quite good. then yesterday i washed the engine and engine compartment and it just wont start now. i checked one plug for spark and there was spark also fuel pump is working and the plugs were wet when i took them out any advice? could this be the ignition module?

Howdy, I also own a 90- 305 and one time I had a start problem and what happened was that the reluctor I think it is (the 8 pointed star thing on the distributor shaft) had moved on the shaft and threw out the timing quite a bit...it would fire but not run...also make sure that you don`t have a timing chain problem...Benny

i also am having problems with my truck starting after i washed the engine, i was told to look for water in the distributor cap and for corrosion on the metal contacts where the sparks are supposed to happen. i was also told my ignition module and coil needed to be replaced but i have not fixed this problem yet and have more troubleshooting to do.
