Talking Got my new car!

Today i found my new car; an 1990 VW Corrado G60 Supercharged. Got it for $3,900 and it only have 70k miles. Does 0-60 in 7.3 and gets 160hp at the crank. tops out at about 140mph. btw its a 5-speed. I've heard the G60 engines w/ the superchargers require quite a bit of maintainance and dedication but i am prepared to spend alot of time w/ this car. So far i think its only got exhaust. Within the next week, im gonna check everything and give it a tune up to make sure all the wrinkles are worked out, and put in a K&N filter. The 2nd gear syncros are weak and if you shift from 1st to 2nd w/o waiting a second for the rpm's to slow down and the syncro to work it makes a small grinding noise. I know this is not good and at the worst may require the transmission to be replaced but im willing to dish out another 600 or so for that if it needs to be done.

Anyway, i'm very happy w/ it and i hope i will have a good time working on this car and running at the track. Thanks to everyone who gave input and advice in my last post about what is should get.

carrado

Hey Bud! I had a G60 for a couple years before I got my Golf, the only reason I sold it was because it was HELLA HIGH MAINTANCE! My dad had bought it new and sold it to me for a grad present, it had 15,000km on it, and within' a couple months I had to replace little things (alternator, battery, fuel pump, catalytic conv.) and after about a year the car died! it costed more to have it fised than it was worth so i sold her on ebay without the engine, cause it was hooped!
Let's just prey that it was just a bad seed and you'll have better luck with yours...! VW4LIFE!!!

ya i heard they are very high maintainance but i am prepared to dedicate alot of time and as much money as i can come up w/ getting 10 bucks an hour at in and out

I joined the "Corrado Club of America" and their site has been a great resource for me. It has instructions on how to replace anything on that car and people can post what problems they had and how they fixed them so i hope it will work out for the best.

I couldnt get the car today cause they are still doing some minor cosmetic repairs. Hopefully i will get it tommorow. i'll keep ya updated
