I was wondering if anyone here has ever driven up the Cali coastline before on the 101 freeway. I'm moving up to WA soon and I'm trying to plan my roadtrip. I've driven up the 5 fwy before, which was VERY boring. After Sacramento, there's nothing for hundreds of miles. I thought driving up the coast would be a lot cooler and a better experiecne. Any advice from those who have treaded before? Is it a longer drive, worth the extra time, anything to actually see, etc? Thanks in advance.

Yeah Coast!
Driving along the coast is defintely worth the time. I drove up to SF from LA this past summer, taking 5 up and driving the coast the entire way down.... stopping every 5 min to look over the edge. This drive is on National Geographic's Top 50 places of a Life time. Can't beat Big Sur.
