i love this car after only having it for 24 hrs i can never wait to drive it i mean it needs a tune up and some carb cleaner badly so im prolly only runnin like 200 ponnies so when i change the cap and rotor and spark plugs air filter fueld filter i should be at max power which im estimating over 300

here are some pics me and my friend got up just ignore the rice mines at the bottom including the system pic.

That is most probably your problem. I have the same problem with my Nova when I cheat a little and put the 89 octane in. Just shut the car off while in drive or whatever, like your dad said, then put it in park.

Re: got my iroc

What engine is in it and is it stock and if its the LG4 engine thats like only 160 hp or it has to be the L69 which is only 190 Hp and thats not even at the rear wheels so i doubt u runnin 200 hp. and tell me how do u expect to gain 100 horsepower off a tune up??

Re: got my iroc

Ewww...Cheap gas. Come on at least put 90 into it. Atleast 90 isn't oxygenated and it's like tripple filtered.

I remember one day when I only had like 5 bucks in cash and I needed gas to go get my check ( never ran anything under 90 in it before. ) I decided , hey what the hell , It's just five bucks ,i'll fill er' up with 91 after and throw in some octane booster to clean it out.
God damn my car hated that. Engine stalled a couple times , no pick up , bogged a bit. Better octane is definently better performance.

And yes..how the hell do you get a 100 HP gain from a tune-up , Let me know the secret.
