A/C help Please !!!

My a/c isn't working on my 99 chrysler concorde. I took it to the dealership and was told that the electric wire got on the exhaust manifold and burned up the wire. I was told my warranty didn't cover this kind of problem, so I am trying to figure it out on my own. I live in TX and it is really starting to get hot. Could someone please help me find this wire so I can get it fixed temporarily until I can get the wire replaced? I am leaving town in the morning and I don't want to have to put my kids through a hot drive if I don't have to.
