Wet infinity system
I have a '97 jeep with a sunroof. The sunroof developed a leak and I had to completely gut the interior to get the water out of it. The infinity speakers on the right side of the vehicle now have a serios static problem. I can't figure out where the problem could be coming from because the wires are one peice and the amplifier didn't get wet. The speakers are not blown. If anyone has any ideas they'd be much appreciated.

Re: Wet infinity system
To remove the door faces, pop out the round plastic screw covers you can see and remove the screws. Then pop out the plastic rectangular screw cover behind the door handle - remove the screw behind it. Now you can pry off the door panel - it'll "pop" off, which is held in by round plastic clips (don't worry about breaking them, you can find replacements at AutoZone for about $4 for 12 and besides, you'll have enough clips to get the panel back on). Once the panel's off, you can unplug the connectors for the power window/lock module. Voila! You'll see the el-cheapo Infinity speakers (if they got wet, they might've blown a cone, but they're fairly well protected...) - easy to replace (and best to do so with some aftermarket Infinity's or your preference of 6.5"/6.75" speakers). Good luck!
