Heat vs. Air conditioning problem

Help. My 95 LaSabre puts out extreme heat on the passenger side and climate controlled air on the drivers, ie. air conditioning works on drivers, but puts out hot air on passenger side. Seems we can never shut off the heat coming out the passenger side but can control the temps on drivers side. Any ideas?

Re: Heat vs. Air conditioning problem

I have the same problem with my '97 LeSabre! A dealer diagnostic ($89) stated "pass. air mix actuator malfunction" I ordered the actuator GM part #16141822 online but now need to know where
and how to install it! Please help.

Found the problem

Problem turned out to be a faulting actuator rod that switches between air conditioning and heat. It is accessed behind the glove box and moves horizontally. The connection needs repaired but at least I can now manually move the rod right or left to get heat or air.
