thought you guys would like this

ok this is just plain funny, my cousin's boyfriend is complete idiot. he saw a camaro in the paper so he drove 30 miles with cash in hand to get it. the add in the paper said "1990 IROC 305tpi" uhhhm, was the IROC even available in 1990? but that's not the best of it.
while he was looking at the car, the owner supposedly couldn't get the hood open to show him the engine......and he bought it anyway!!!
then....he got it home and finally got the hood open to discover a 305tbi motor!!!! after i looked this car over i discovered that this car is nothing more than a 1990RS with IROC decals and Z28 rims. i laughed so hard at him that it pissed him off this car has been rode hard and put away wet more times than he'll even know. the tranny slips and the engine has no power what so ever, not even enough for a brake stand. and to top it off, he told me that he's going to build a 383tpi motor that will make 600hp
just thought you guys might like a little humor like this. he's the reason camaro's arent made anymore

Re: thought you guys would like this

Yes they had irocs in 1990 but they all came with TPI motors.

You could easily build a 383 with 600 hp but they are more for torque.

ya gotta remember Dober, this kid is moron. his other car is an 80's toyota supra with a fart can muffler that he claims can outrun anything. i was working on a firebird one time with a MAF problem, and he told me to change the timing chain and that would fix it. he has no mechanical skills what so ever and shouldn't even be aloud to drive a car.
btw, i thought 1989 was the last year for the IROC? i dunno i'm not too up on IROC years, i've never owned one

Re: thought you guys would like this

Nope the IROC contract was terminated sometime around 1989 or 1990 but 1990 was the last year for the iroc and there werent a whole lot of them made. They brought the 1991 Z28 out real early that year to make up for the early stop on the 1990 models.

Re: thought you guys would like this

how much did he pay for it? My guess is WAY TOO MUCH.. lol. he sounds a lot like my buddy Cooper, hes debating on a 302 or 351 in his 86 Thunderbird.. but he has no income, where the money is coming from i dont know. doesnt think about things before he decides what he wants to do..

351's are good engines. The cleveland is better than the windsor though.

my shop teacher in high school had a ford ranger with a 351 windsor and 3:55 gears. the weight to power ratio was pretty awsome.

Last i checked, 302 and 351 are both fords except for the 302 that was put in the 69 camaros i think. That would be the dumbest thing ever if someone put one of those engines in a camaro.

Re: thought you guys would like this

um, chevy had its OWN 302, not a ford 302, the chevy 302 was a 350 block with a 283 crank, 4in bore, and 3in stroke, rated at 290hp, but actually made like 350-390hp, absolute terrors, that you had to shift at around 7000 rpms to really use. im actually building a modern interpertation of that engine for my IROC. dunno why you think that would be dumb. those engiens were hot, absolutely killed in trans am racing. but eh, to each their own.

Sorry about that, i know chevy had its own 302. Thats what I was talking about in the 69 camaro. I misread and thought he said firebird and not thunderbird.
