speedometer/odometer problem

I bought an 89 grand prix a while back with an intermitent speedometer problem. It usually works only when it is cold outside, 0-35 deg. F. And the odometer only works when the speedometer is working. It is a digital speedometer/odometer if that helps. Any help is appreciated.

I have an 88 grand prix doing the same thing. what can fix this???

You both have bad clusters. One or more transistors are shorting out, and they work when cold until they get warm, then fail.
