91 525i Euro Spec to US Spec Conversion

Does anyone know the needed changes for converting a Euro spec 91 525i to US spec. I have spent enough money and time in my BMW in the last couple months to want to part with it for a long time. I know that I need saftey glass for the windshield (that I am gonna have to replace anyways thanks to a German 18 wheeler) , A cat on the exhaust, Speedometer , and possible softer suspension???? If anyone has ever looked into this before or happens to know a good resource to find this info it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!!
