Question headlamp bulbs for HID look

I'm wanting to replace my stock headlight bulbs with some aftermarket types to get that HID look with out spending 500+$ on an acutall HID kit. The price ranges for bulbs ive seen go from 30-130$ for a set of bulbs so its hard to tell which ones are best. Im just trying to get the purest britest white i can get. Its its got a lil purple or blue tint thats cool too..

What should i use?

Re: headlamp bulbs for HID look

There are different models of GTi's y'know. How am I supposed to know what model it is.
Anyways, I had some Super-White PIAA lights in my car.
They worked really well (they're fucking bright) most people would think I was driving around with my high beams on until I'd actually flash my high beams at them and blind 'em.
I think they were like $80.
They finally burned out the other day, but the lasted for like four years.
I don't know if that's a long time for headlights to last, but I always have my lights on, even in the day (it's safer, and it still looks cool.

Re: headlamp bulbs for HID look

Cool I might have to try those Piaa bulbs out. I had cuzo bulbs in my civic and silverstar bulbs in my old nissan that were ok. I saw a GTI the other day and i could have sworn he had an HID kit but he told me that he had just bought some different bulbs but couldn't remember the brand. ~shit~ but ill try those PIAA's out.
