Honda RA-272 engine pics needed

I haven't built any models in years, but I found this one at the hobby shop and I'm diving into it.

I've scoured and scoured the web for resources and have done pretty well so far. I did a search on this forum and got some good information.

What I really need is more detail on the ignition wires. I can see where they come off of the spark plugs, but can't tell where they go from there.

Does anybody have a detailed photo showing that? Any pics are helpful, but specifically the ignition wires.

Also, does anybody have this cutaway view of the car from the 1982 July Road and Track magazine that I've read about?

Thanks very much.

Here's mine with the Road and Track article, I think I know where some pics are online.

Thanks a lot Veyron. Those are some pics I haven't seen yet.

Your model looks terrific as well. I'm hoping I still have my old skills as I get deeper into this thing.

I see you have the ignition wires running down to that little feature on the lower left of the engine. Did you have a picture of that to go by?

From the pictures I have, I can do pretty much everything but those pesky ignition wires.

So far I've sprayed the block and differential with aluminum metalizer then sealed it before giving it a wash with yellow Acryl. It looks JUST like the pictures.

Thanks again. It's ridiculous how much time you can spend researching when you're very picky about details.

Thanks Veyron,

That one pic of the fuel lines has been incredibly helpful to me. My build is going well and hopefully I can defeat the "too picky" monster and get this thing done in a few more weeks.

Yeah great pics Veyron, saved to hard drive
Of course one should always be wary of using a restored car as reference. Although in the absence of any period photos what else can you do?

Reference pics are so hard to find for this thing, I think you could get away with a few liberties.

For sure, for sure. At worst you can always say it is modeled as a restred example

Re: Honda RA-272 engine pics needed

I was looking for the same thing a few days ago when I came across your request in a search.I am working on the 1/20 as well.
I can't confirm this to be true, but just did it anyway based on model, and Road and track pics I found. It seems to me they are running two wires to each , (coil?).
Hope this works with the pic. I just signed up here (newbie) .
