Exclamation Help.. i am new! plz read calgary

Hello

Im in calgary, i work for Airdrie Chrysler as a sales rep up here. I gotta get rid of my 91 Tercel (giving it back to my dad) and need to purchase just a 88 Honda Civic Si. Yop. thats the only one i want. unless the DX is a better price and will fit the B16.

My intentions? to put a new B16 in it with lsd tranny IF possible. Why? cuz of speed, and i get parts for cheap!! duh! Could anyone help me get a list of things i need to get to get that sweet engine installed? like drive shafts? hmm... unno stuff like that. I will buy everything mostly brand new as well. now, im also confused, i've heard many quotes on B16's anywhere from 1200-2500 bux for one. Any differences? Like i said im very new at this. Any help would be so much greatfull!

thanks everyone! hope to see u on the streets this summer!

PS. I play Paintball too, i'll be at the Nationals this 26th and 27th. email me or something if ya guys wanna watch peepz get shot!

Parstwise you would need the engine (of course ), tranny, flywheel, clutch, axles, mounts and ECU. I'm pretty sure that's close if not all you would need. There's also a place in town that I've heard of called

YOKO
(Japanese) Used Engines
Transmissions & Parts Ltd.
#8, 415-38 Ave NE
403-230-8984

Never called em to see what they're like for prices or anything. But hey it's a starting point eh?

Hopefully your project goes well!

You should just check the bargain finder.
Or check out www.megawheels.com www.canadatrader.com or www.buysell.com
you should be able to find one there.

hehe

ok.
I went for a quick shop today. Which engine is more worth while getting? or differences and what not.

US Spec B16 or Jap Spec B16???? lets say for a 88-91 civic... because from what i've heard, jap specs have been around forever and noone really knows the actual kilometers on it and it has different fuel/air mixture unlike the US spec where its pretty much programmed to be running at our elevation.

Any clarifications are appreciated.

Doesn't really matter if you get JDM or USDM spec ... difference between them is the ECU and the compression ...

Exclamation alright!

Ok. so now one thing is at ease with me!!! thanks.... now its pretty much down to best price i guess. but i think choice number 1 would prolly still be usdm because of less mileage... but we'll see. i found a nice 89 Civic Si with new white paint job, 4K? still expensive for high kilometers i guess. but we'll see what i can squeeze.
