I second that. If you were any other place I would say get the ZC. But in cali the ZC is going to give you a bunch of headaches when it comes to emmissions.

It should be about equivalent to the zc swap and nowhere near 2500. Marked001 can tell you about how much since he was almost done before his hatch was stolen.

d16z6 longblocks can be had for anywhere from $300 -$1000....so that really determines how much the swap will be...a good price is around $500 for a complete longblock. I was lucky enough go get one for $350

you'll need a p28 ecu (92-95 si/ex)...around $100-125

I'd recommend getting a OBD0-OBD1 adapter harness...around $140 (I can get you the email of someone who makes em)

4 wire heated o2 sensor...$50-100 depending on if you get a used one or not...

providing you get a complete longblock, that should be everything (that I can think of right now) besides preventative maintenance stuff...

I believe you need to retain your side transmission mount and then it will drop straight in. As for the turbo, it will bolt up to it without any modification except to the charge pipes. Those need to be slightly modified to fit.

I ran the ZC and passed emmission in Ohio easily. I just used my Si ECU and things went fine.

Cali is a whole different ball game I think its the only state that ppl will have trouble passing the emissions.

its not the emissions that they cant 'necessarily' pass...its the visual inspection b/c JDM engines are illegal in cali.

...as long as you use a 88-91 tranny (you have to!) and swap the 88-91 driver's side mount onto the z6 block...
