b20 illegal?

hey i just recently heard that putting a b20 engine into 95 hatchback like mine is illegal. I was told that its because its coming from a SUV and in order for it to be legal you can only put passenger engines into another passeger car. is this true? i live in california

Re: b20 illegal?

im pretty sure it's perfectly legal. and the thing with older engines in newer cars is that the engine has to be the same year or older than the chasis(im pretty sure but correct me if im wrong)

You could always check what the laws are in your state too, just to be safe.
