tire mounting machines
can anyone tell me where I can purchase one of these? I'm not looking for anything elaborate, just one to change car tires.
Are there any that do not require an air compressor to operate?

Post Tools or Harbor Freight sells what you're looking for fairly cheap. You'll have to concrete drill your garage floor and anchor the base of the tire changer to the floor with "Red Heads," those self-anchoring bolts.
