car is smoking..

so i just came back from the dealership( oil change and rotating tires) well when i was driving home i smelled somthing funny like a burning smell, but i didnt think anything of it until i parked it in the garage and shut the door. 30 mins later i went to get something out of the garage and its filled with smoke and smells like the same smell when i was driving it... what could be wrong with it.. when i looked under the hood, everything looked normal and it still drives normal.. any bit of help will mean alot.. Thanks

they probably spilled some oil from the old filter onto the exhaust pipe/catalytic converter. once the exhaust heated up, the oil was being cooked and burned, causing the smoke and smell.

it'll go away very soon, if it hasnt already

go back to the dealer and bitch till they give you your next oil change for free. cause in all honesty they are supposed to clean that flex pipe off.

They're right, they probably spilled some oil on an exhaust pipe or on the engine somewhere. Just make sure there's no oil leaking under your car anywhere.

again thats correct. same thing happens to me. i tried to save that problem by putting an old towel around the converter to soak up the oil. helped a little but still did the buring. like drift said, it will burn off.

yeah, it's exactly what they're saying...the other day my engine was smokin after a race...i was like wth..den relized that it was b/c of the day before when i changed my oil & filter...the filter lays horizontally, so it's bound to drip on ur pipes when changing it, just go get your water hose n spray that part...smelling it isn't so great
