Normal running temp?
We've owned a '98 ES for about 4 months, and it runs great. Occasionally however the temperature needle climbs from it's normal position just left of center to about 80% of the way to the right, drifting back down to normal over the next 30-60 seconds. There doesn't seem to be any pattern to when this occurs; sometimes within a couple minutes of starting the car, at other times at the end of a 35-minute commute.
I would pass it off as a quirk, but during a recent road trip, the temp gauge climbed all the way to the top while going over a mountain pass. After getting off the road to let it cool down, it ran perfectly the rest of the trip, staying cool over the pass on the way home. Does anyone else experience a 'wandering temp gauge' in their 626? Thanks! |

Re: Normal running temp?
Yes, Ther's a few possibilities, A. Check if your running around 2500 rpm's on the kl z0 motor [ the 2.5 v6 powerplant in your car] it is common to have the temp to go near top (even in winter, and I live in canada) but to have it jump all around just from a silly hill, you could /should have it possibly replaced. Also flush your rad.
