i have cleaned my throttle body, put on a high flow cat, greedy exhaust and am still noticing that there is no low end torque! after 2500 rpm's its got it. i need the take off. am i the only one with this problem? i got a 2.0 turbo motor on the way but i would like to get this one running strong for back up. any help would be great!!!

Underdrive pulleys might help.

Re: no low end torque!!!

eh he just said he put in a high flow cat back exhaust. Theres his problem lol. Because if Im not mistakes you need a bit of back pressure to get decent torque in those na eclipse engines correct? And also you just put on exhaust which is pointless with out an INtake to let more air in. Get a cheap cold air intake or make your own. Sell that high flow cat and get one with more back pressure. thats all I can think of. PUlleys will help but that be pointless to invest that money when your gettin ga new engine.get an afc and fuck with your air fuel ratio. Ive always liked the Apexi afc. And you can use it witht he new engine youll recieve.

Re: no low end torque!!!

Like Joe said are you a NT, cause I don't think a turbo can really lose low-end, unless you have a leak somewhere.

is after 2500 still consider low end?
either way, when I installed my catback, my "low end" didn't feel "right" anymore. you sacrifice it for high end

Re: no low end torque!!!

ok, first of all is this guy a 420a or a 4g63? by the 'i got a 2.0 turbo on the way' i would venture to guess that he is a 420a and is in for a very rude awakening when he tries to put in a 4g63. either that or he is replacing a perfectly good 4g63. if he does infact have a 4g63, it's probably just lag. and if is a 420a, i would have to say that the Exhaust Gas Velocity is being fucked with by the hi-flow and exhaust being too large. remember that back pressure is bad no matter what [thanks ashah000 for the schooling on that topic!].

we need more info on what you got right meow.

If it is not that big of a loss who cares.. when are you at 2500 rpms in a race.
And if it is a NT, and you have a 3" exhaust then yea get rid of it and put a 2.5" on.

Backpressure This is the best link I have found on backpressure. Have fun

I think the thread starter is turbo deprived, in which case you DO need backpressure.

No. Backpressure is ALWAYS bad.

Here this is what Kevin had to say if you don't believe me...

Re: no low end torque!!!

Basically we are in agreement, but you are arguing semantics.

Smaller piping = better low end...there, no terminology to get twisted.

True. But smaller piping = worse high end.

And I would rather have high end.
