Awd vs. Fwd

Alright, heres the deal... I just turned 16 and looking into buying an eclipse/talon turbo... now my question is should i get a gs-t, gsx, or tsi. I am taking into consideration price for each... i could by a lightly modded Fwd, stock or close to stock Awd. Also if i bought the Fwd i would have money left over to mod. Another question... should I go first gen. or 2nd. I know that the 1st have more power potential but if i swap a 1st gen throttle body into a 2nd gen wouldnt it be pretty even. I like the 2nd gen look alot better but i want a car that is quick. Dont flame me because im youg either. I know cars, I know how to drive and have been riding 4 wheelers since I was 5 so i have experience in how to handle an engine and not to push myself past breaking. Im not a young 16 year old looking to rice out my civic. I want a fast car, with decent looks... I am more worried about the performance over the looks though. But overall would you say to go Awd or Fwd and 1st gen or 2nd. I want the car more for dragging, and some highway racing. I have about 5 maybe 6 grand of my own money to spend...Taking into account what Ive said... give me your opinion and let me know what you think... Thanks

k, there are a million posts about fwd vs. awd...this post is pointless buy what you want...read the other threads and see what people have to say about each one...price out the aftermarket parts you want to put on...then make your decision.

if your asking what car to buy. get the gsx or tsi. if you like the looks of the 2g. get the 2g gsx. its your car, you have to drive it. they both perform nearly the same. its irrelivent what anyone else thinks. welcome to the club

pff im 16 too! and im gonna own a talon TSI AWD or a eclipse GSX (1gen) and like you said who gives a fuck about looks? and if you got 6 grand on your own, then why not get the 1gen?

$$ is the biggest factor here. if you want a cheap to mod dragger, get a 1g tsi. you will be in high speed heaven. for a real project car, get a 95 GSX, plop a 6-bolt in it with a 2g exhaust mani and go to town from there...

swap tha throttle body ??? u mean swap tha 4G64 for a 4G63 right ?

if you want it for dragging get a 1g awd it will prob set you back about 2500-3000 for one in good condition then you still have a couple grand for mods

God cars must be cheap where u guys are. A 95 gs goes for about 4400 around hear and a gsx is abou 8-9.

Buy the stock vehicle. AWD will also lower your insurance ever so slightly.

gsts and gsxs go for up to 15,000 and they have rust...thats y I bought mine in AZ...no rust, new engine, old dude drove it so it was rarely beat on...gotta love the old ppl

Another question... Cant you replace a 2nd gen throttle body with a 1st gen's? The 2nd is a 52 mm i think and the 1st is a 60mm. Ive also been around Talons and Eclipses alot and ive never heard of a 4g64? Whats the difference between that 4g63 and 4g63. Thanks...
