mustang sketch

I haven't posted any art in a while. I've been busy working on some Buicks. (I might put something up on that this weekend). I do sketch nightly though even if it's just 20 minutes. I get a lot of thinking done between scribbles.

Last night I was scribbling thoughts for that contest that I don't have time to enter and I did this:

I was laying on the bed and half watching 24 so it's real real rough (excuse my imperfections, If I actually decide to draw it...I'll do better), but every piece doesn't have to be good. It's practice. Just being loose and letting the pen go where it wants to. Kinda peaceful. We draw something put it away and draw something else. Rinse and repeat.

Re: mustang sketch

lol thanks SeCrEtMoDdEr ,

I'm not sure "precise" is the right word to use in this case. I've drawn many Mustangs in the past, and I did have reference folders with me. There is a lot that needs to be tweaked before this one becomes reality, but thanks for the kind words.

After this Buick thing I might redo this car and set it up as a coloring tutorial or something like that.

Re: mustang sketch

It's not bad or anything, it's just that hindsight is 20/20 and if I go to draw this thing I'll make a few changes. One may be to incorporate some stippling on the car as opposed to just crosshatching. I don't mind the combo and I think it would help give me greater depth in certain areas on certain materials. I would also redo the "0" and maybe the letters in general. I might also lose the foliage (if that's what that is), and maybe put in some of the native plants from here in Tucson...you know cactus, and maybe some kind of animal.

I'd also fix the back tire and make the front tire larger. It's closer but it's smaller and it's not even turned.

I like the stance and the attitude a lot so overall I'm very pleased. If I redo it I'll set up a side by side thing so we can compare.

I may still put it on my site though.

Re: mustang sketch

if you do redo it, do put them side-by-side. that would reveal a lot to me.

Hey Lemorris.

I think it looks awesome, except it looks a little rough

Re: mustang sketch

you can't really mean its "real real rough"? It looks great, like all your others. Its a fantastic cartoon.

"Just being loose and letting the pen go where it wants to"

LOL if I did that my drawings would look like an enthusiastic 2 year olds
