I'm going to have a beer and sketch a little later. My daughter's birthday is the 23rd and she got straight A's on her report card. Her celebration was massive!! She's 12 and is an artist as well. We gave her an art table, pencil box, and set her up in the studio.

I would tell you my age, but I wouldn't want it to destroy the hopes of anyone out there. I mean if it were known that I'm actually in my late 30's many of you would...oh damn!!

i'm 34. we're the dinosaurs of the forum. i didn't actually start getting "good" until i was in my 30s. all else before was rehearsal, sort of.

I knew you had the kind of knowledge trhat comes with age bonzelite. I started drawing when I was 21, and I'm still trying to learn what the hell is goin on.

just some short history:

i started to draw decipherable objects at the age of 2, did it all through school, had special privileges because of it, etc. then i rebelled against it when i was a teen. hated being 'teacher's pet.' now i wish i hadn't delayed my discipline.

it was not until i gradutated college in '92, at the late age of 22, that i really hunkered down to do it professionally -"all the marbles," a full commitment, with nothing to fall back on.

i feel today that i have made up for what i avoided for years. now i want to move on to do something else with it besides storyboarding, eventhough that is a very very good living.

you draw very well, my man.

Last Friday, May 21. I posted it all over the place and even put Birthday Boy as my user title. I got a birthday wish from a couple people in Car Modeling, and one from saturntangerine.
