Re: need a new muffler

HKS is really nice if you've got the dough, or for half the pice you could get a just-as-good custom exhaust bent for you.

But HKS is fancy.

what is cheaper? buy a name brand cat-back and just do it yourself or take it to a muffler shop and have them custom make you one?

cheaper if you take to muffler shop and mandrel bent the pipes for you. But have to wield to to the catalytic converter. You'll have to use a universal exhaust, and wield it on too.

However, a name brand Cat-back bolts right on, easy and clean looking. Also, some are all stainless steel, even the pipes, but of course they cost more.

Re: need a new muffler

Custom exhaust is definatley cheaper.
I did mine super cheap... 2.5" cat, Dynomax Super Turbo muffler, and 2.5" aluminized piping for <$300cdn.

Can't really beat the price, and for the amount of time it lasts I might want to try something different next time (I've had like 4 different setups becuase its fun to experiment with), or I might like that setup and do it all in SS next time so it lasts forever.

Still cheaper custom.

Re: need a new muffler

My exhaust setup looks completly stock for probably around the same cost, not a whole heck of a lot louder, and flows better. No fart can fo me.
