Hi all. I have a 1988 Chrysler New Yorker Landau, V6, 3 Liter. I need help on removing my Rack and Pinion. I have the bushings off but it appears stuck by something inside a boot below the steering column. Any help on how to get my rack and pinion off would be greatly appreciated. Thanx!

Re: Help - Rack and Pinion Removal
not sure on your specific model
but the thing in the boot is where the steering column connects to the rack, pull the boot up , or rack out from firewall and look for a coller with a bolt or roll pin going through it romove bolt or knock out roll pin and tap off collar, usually collar is slotted put screwdriver blade in slot and twist to open enough to slide off or tap off. hope this helps |
