Does anyone know where I can find out information about construction custom consoles, dashboards, and speaker mods from either Fiberglass and/or resin. Something that has techniques for creating lots of curves and organic shapes.

fiber glass works , but make sure you making entire pieces like an entire door cus it dont bond with vinyl well and separates as time goes by from shrinkage

Here are two websites that go into detail on how to make fiberglass pieces for your car's interior. I found them very helpful.

http://web.njit.edu/~cas1383/proj/main/

http://www.therangerstation.com/Cust...riorPieces.htm

Hope that helps. I plan on making a custom fiberglass dashboard soon for my 83 VW Rabbit, since the original dash is in bad shape, and ugly anyway.

Good luck.

Since I last posted on here, I have almost finished my center console, and since it is coming out so well, I decided to fabricate a entire new dashboard for my 83 GTI... If you take a look at my webpage on http://www.cardomain.com/memberpage/657135 you can see two pics of the center console under construction... Working with fiberglass is messy, time consuming, and a little hazardous, but with the right supplies the outcome is definately worth the effort because you will have created a one of a kind piece...

If you give me your email, I will be happy to send you some detailed info on how I went about fiberglassing.

I am just about to start laying the fiberglass for my dashboard, I will take a couple pics of what the mold looks like before I begin...

Mike.
