rotary iq test.
What i think is a dumb idea is that for people who buy rotary engined cars should take some test to see how well they know how to take care of it.
There could be classes or something, or maybe dealers could show potential owners a video about how to car for the engine. I'm thinking about this because i cringe every time i see this kid from the school that i go to start up his rx-8 and drive away immediately without warming it up.

Re: rotary iq test.
How long do you let your car warm up?

Re: rotary iq test.
you don't have to let it sit and warm up, you just need to shift by 3k rpms

Re: rotary iq test.
I let mine do the 3k warmup, then when the idle drops I drive cautiously shifting around 2500RPM's until warm.

Re: rotary iq test.
I always tap the gas to get the 3k rpm warmup to drop to bou 2k, seems better on the engine if you ask me

Re: rotary iq test.
same here or if you have an S5 just have the car in gear when you turn it on and the 3K start will be turned off.

does a RX-8 have a timer to cool the turbo
it seems to me "the idiot i might be" the 93 94 7's would have been a success in the US market if we the US market knew what race bread car they had and if you want one you need to be nice to it. right? thats what killed Mazda service work on turbos cracked from heat cycling too fast too often. Mazda should have sold N/A cars and limited edition R version turbos their US market relieability would be better.

Re: rotary iq test.
People dont know anything about those cars. I'm not talken about the soccer moms (I wouldnt expect them to know) but the 2F2F crowd who claim to like RX7s. I dont know too many people who know anything about cars, but a lot of the people I did talk to didnt know shit about RX7s. I went to a dealer and the workers started telling me that you have to maintain it. I was glad at least the dealer knew something about it.

Re: rotary iq test.
Also the apex seals swell so your motor will see less wear and boost compression
