Cleaned Throttle Body.

First off I cleaned my throttle body totally. This has never been done on my car that I know of and well I did it for the first time. I took the throttle body off but I dont have one of those "star" screw drivers to get the one peice off. But I could get the wires off of it and unbolted it and cleaned both sides. The one side of the plate inside was totally black! and the backside of the TB plate was totally black also. It was gunked up and totally dirty. I cleaned it completely and now it is nice and shiny and I am sure it will help a ton. While I had the throttle body off, I looked inside the intake tube and it looks nasty inside there.. I was wondering how I could clean that out? I am sure my car will run a lot better now especially if I can get that intake tube cleaned out. Air should flow 10x's better now through the throttle body.

Only downside is when I was putting the throttle body back on the gasket broke, which I figured would happen because it was so brittle and old. So I have to wait till one arrives tomorrow because no auto parts store had one.. If anyone can tell me what to use to make my own I will

ok well I have everything back together and I have a problem. I am guessing because of the increased air flow and cleaned throttle plate maybe.. But my rpms are at 2100 idle.. definitely not right. The wire that connects to the throttle body to open and close the plate seems looser than it was since I have reattached it. I dont think that has anything to do with the idle, except when I press on the gas and when I let off it, it acts like the car wants to cut off. 2100 rpms idle is not right, how do i adjust or fix this? thanks.

NM I figured out what the problem was.
