Re: 99 Prelude Injectors And Fuel Filter help!!!!!

The filter or filterS on a prelude are fairly simple to replace. On my 84 I have a prmry and a secndry simply clamp the fuel lines off on both sides and replace it. As far as I know of fuel injectors pulling them out does NO good. There is a spray that u can buy. (Not CHeap by the way) That U hook up to the fuel lines and run till it dies. This might clean out little problems but if an injector is bad it won't fix it. Also take a ling neck screwdriver put the handle end to ur ear and the other end to the injector and listen to them to see if they are all working correctly b4 u go spendin lots of money on em. Good Luck!

Re: 99 Prelude Injectors And Fuel Filter help!!!!!

thnx man... but it seems like my fuel filter is a screw of some kind that is... well i would say almost next to impossible to get out with out taking out many other things that are in the way.

but i think from what you said... there might be a primary and secondary so ill look into that...

and far as the injectors go... what are they supposeed to sound like if they are good because i have no idea and never heard the injectors at work.

Just listen to them. They should all sound the same. Basically u can tell if ones bad by listening for differences in them. U just have to get a feel for it. Also, lots of people say that gumout etc. helps. As far as I'm concerned it doesn't (No Offense) The stuff they put in gumout is a required chemical in gasolines. You're already getting that stuff run through them every time u drive it. Let me know if u have any more questions. Message me if u don't get a quick response.

Re: 99 Prelude Injectors And Fuel Filter help!!!!!

Get yourself a mechanics stethoscope... $10.00 at any auto parts store and listen to each one, they should be ticking quickly, Your fuel filter might be mounted on the fire wall and it can be a bear to get the nuts on top to break loose if it is factory. Just follow your fuel line back to the filter... there might be a primary down next to the frame by the back wheels on the drivers side. that is just a clamp on filter.
