2000 jimmy, Need help Replacing drivers pwr window Motor

My drivers side window on my 2000 jimmy does not go down and I have diagnosed it to the window motor. Having bought a window motor I am unsure about how to install it. The regualator assembly is riveted together and I cannot see how it should come apart. Should I remove the whole regulator or can I get away with just the motor? I was planning on using hardware instead of the rivets for reassembly. Has anyone done this?
