turbo questions

im getting the 16g turbo upgrade for my gsx i have all the basic parts(intake, exhaust, new boost gauge, new plug wires, new greddy blow off, new boost controler) Do i need to get a new FMIC before i get the 16g. Even if i run the turbo close to stock boost levels?

Re: turbo questions

Stock FMIC is fine for 16g turbo. A FMIC will allow you to max out a 16g with manageable knock, but you dont NEED it to run. Just be sure to keep boost relatively low (~16 psi) unless you are datalogging. If you have a datalogger, or can borrow one, you can gradually raise boost until you knock, run out of fuel, or both.

Re: turbo questions

You can run the SMIC with up to 16psi like stated before. If you're running on a hot day, be careful with raising the boost. The shitty stock smic will heat soak in a hurry if driven hard.
