build a cold air intake?
i have found a few cold air inducters for saturn ions, mainly from AEM and am frustrated at the price ( $220!) and i got looking at the actual parts and i beieve i can make my own from rubber hoses and stainless steal piping. is there anything i should be aware of , or not mess with to prevent damage to my engine?

Re: build a cold air intake?
well make sure you buy a hihg flow air filter, air intakes can be made but arent alway better than stock. aftermarket are all one pices and polished on the inside for max air flow, every piece you connect together is slowing the flow, you wont really have to worry about engine damage as long as you have no leaks after your filter very little dirt can cause very big probs, best of luck doing it i would sugg. using 4in or more aluminum pipe its easy to form but wake sure you have NO kinks, let me know how it works

thanks, i figured the less curves I have in the actual tubing, the better the air flow. i am leaving the oxygen sensor where it is, and just bypassing the factory air intake box. thanks for the advice
