Question Window motor removal

Anyone here have any tips on removing the drivers door window motor? The motor has failed on my sister-in-laws car and I have been elected to fix it. I have the door interior apart. Do I remove through there or do I have to take the door skin off? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Mike

Re: Window motor removal

you have to remove the door skin and door panel to change the window motor. The motor is riveted in and drilling it out works best.

Re: Window motor removal

The book says to R&R the regulator but you can sneak the motor off the regulator in the door and reinstall it with bolts instead of rivets.
