Having a problem with 77 toyota pickup clutch
About half the times I get into my truck to start it up, the clutch is very stiff. When I turn it on it won't go into gear. If I turn it off, put it in gear (you can put it in gear while the truck is off) and try to start it, it reacts as if your starting the truck without the clutch petal depressed.
The situation is getting worse with more frequent occurances and metal to metal sounds. Any ideas what might need to be fixed? What I might be up against pricewise/timewise? thanks |

it almost sounds like the release bearing is going south on you. Takes a little while to replace, pull the trans back and so on. but nothing out of rech of the backyard mechanic.
