93 Ford Tauraus brake problems

I have replaced the rear brakes on this car 2 time in about the last 4 months. What I mean is I went to AutoZone and got Calipers, Rotors, and brake pads for the back of my car. This car has ABS and the calipers are lifetime so I have got them replaced for free. However every time that I replace the old ones the new ones insist on dragging. When installing the brakes I bleed off the brakes as instructed by my HAYNES manual from the rear right tire and then the rear left tire. However I have never bleed off the front brakes. I didn't think that would have anything too do with it, but this car is just burning up brakes I mean litterally the caliper exploded on the left side on one set and the other would depress. I don't know even where to start now any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Andy

Re: 93 Ford Tauraus brake problems

It sounds like the flex lines going to the calipers are bad. They callapse inside restricting the brake fluid flow. This would cause the pad to hang up, and ride on the rotor instead of moving away when the brake pedal is released.

Did that fix work? I'm having the same problem, but right side only.

I'm a believer now, too.
I wasn't at first, but verified the problem when I couldn't screw the caliper piston back in until I opened the bleeder screw.
Thanks to houcktownrocks for the followup and irish30 for the on-target answer to the original question.
