Question Fuel Injection high Idling problem?

Have an 80's Camaro with fuel injection. The car will not idle under 2000 RPM. Have changed almost everything. Including the injectors. Only difference is when I take the Mass Air Flow sensor connector off it idles down but doesn't run correctly. It has also been changed. The other difference is when I retard the timing a lot then it will idle down but has zero power. When timed correctly it idles way too high. Again most of the parts have been changed. Any suggestions?

ok, put the timing back where it's supposed to be or atleast close. you'll need about 4 inches of wire or a paper clip.
pull off the service port panel below the steering wheel and connect the top right 2 pins on the service port with the wire.. turn the ignition on but dont start the car, wait atleast 45 seconds then disconnect the IAC connector, then disconnect the timing advance wire by the passenger side fender then remove the wire or paper clip. start the car and let it run 2 or 3 minutes until it's warmed up and running in closed loop, you may have to give it gas to keep it running. once it's warmed up set your idle speed with the screw on the throttle body untill it's running 5-600 RPM then shut it off, re-connect the IAC and timing advance.

Re: Fuel Injection high Idling problem?

I'd run it for codes first. Could be a bad TPS.
