SOHC to SRT-4
Is there any posible way to swap out my SOHC for an SRT-4 Engine.... and can i get a price estimate of how much the motor and all wiring would cost.

i have a buddy that is putting an srt4 engin into his neon( i think its n r/t, not sure tho) well actually he is pretty much swaping everything out for an srt....he says its a pain tho, so if your gonna do it GOOD LUCK! he has been working on his for about 2 months now...

Well what engine can i swap in that i can make faster than an srt- 4, i have about 9,000.$ to play with.

Just do a 2.4l swap from a stratus, put a turbo on it, headers, catback, you know, all that good stuff. that will make you pretty fast.

i dont want to put my car through sergery, i just want an easy swpa that i can posibley boostto about 18 psi or so... somehting reliable and an everyday driver, but a fast sleeper..
i dont really know neons to well, i had a cavalier but i totaled it. soo i bought this 97 neon for 1,500$ and mabe hook it up beyond belief. help me out with some websites and some prices and such. and ill think about it more... mabe one of u guys could come visit me and help me out...

just do the 2.4 and the hahn racecraft stage two intercooled turbo system with turbo forged piston and titanium rods new rings with minor bolt ons and your light shell you should be in the low 12s

You don't want to put it through surgery? The only way you are going to make your 97 faster than a 04 srt-4 is to put it through some magor surery. Like 209neon said, 2.4l swap with all that will make you faster than a stock srt-4, but not an srt-4 with a s3 when it finally comes out which I hear is june or july...........

i understand i swap is a lil bit of sergery, but im not trying to cut up my engine bay trying to get somehting to fit....
I might buy a faster car, this was really just a temperary untill i get a new car, witch is in like 4-6 months, but if i can make this car hot. Why wait....... I want to spend about 4- 5 grand on the engine alone. rest on the body and interiror.

2.4 bolts on just need the mount kit and the turbo kit also bolts on and you could have the machine shop do the block work there high hp motor + light shell= fast car get it
