Oxygen Sensor replacement problems

How do you reach the connector????????

I have a 95 JGC Limited Orvis, 5.2L. I need to replace the oxygen sensor. I heard all the nightmare stories about getting at the sensor on different vehicles so assumed it would be difficult on mine. I even considered buying the "special" tool. Surprisingly enough, it was incredibly simple and very accesible. That is, until I saw where the conenctor was. The connector is buried high inside the chasis out of reach unless I take off the main exhaust pipe coming from the manifold.

Someone please tell me I am stupid and have missed something because I have a hard time accepting all this work is required to get at a plastic connector for a 5 min job.

Go to a 99 store and look for the(2ft)longest screwdriver and use it to remove the connector clip from the bottom of course, if I recall there's a plastic tie you can cut to help lower the connector. Installing is easy if you have long arms . Make sure you install the sensor 1st then the connector. Peace

I loosen'd the tranny mount and lowered it a couple inches b/c of the exhaust being mounted on the tranny mount, adn them reached up in between to d/c the wire harness
