Hi Great Forum ,
I have just bought a 93 520 sei, the problem with it is the dashboard is dead, all it shows is "code" in led , The guy who sold me it said it would cost me £80 to get it set, now Im sure ive been ripped off surely if the dashboard needs coding ,for safety reasons all the clocks should work. could someone put my mind at rest and tell me is this normal for bmw's ?? This is my 3rd Bmw but my first 5 series. Please tell me Ive not been ripped off. nothing at all works on the dash I can't see how much petrol ive got left,if any I don't know what speed im doing , apart from that, the car runs like shit off a shovel Cheers Ray www.spook.shows.it |

Re: 520 SEI Dash code
hte E34's don't have a 'codabe' cluster like the E36's do...they have a coding plug that can fail and a couple of main components in the cluster that fail...so often so that replacement[dealer only] have become very reasonable here in the states.. fuses are an unlikely cause since it does read 'code'
